Remote access with approvals and session logs
Built on open-source RustDesk, with a management layer we own. Devices sit in groups, sessions need approval, and every session is logged. Read more about Hesper remote access.

Hesper is managed service provider software from Arke Technologies in Johannesburg: one IT operations management platform for approved remote access, monitoring every 15 minutes, standard automated repairs and SLA-tied ticketing. Built first for our own managed service, it serves MSPs and in-house IT teams and launches in November 2026.
Hesper is the IT operations platform from Arke Technologies (Pty) Ltd, the Johannesburg technology company serving organisations across South Africa. It is managed service provider software, but it is not only for managed service providers (MSPs). In-house IT teams at companies, public bodies, schools and universities do the same daily work of watching devices, fixing faults and recording what was done.
IT operations management is that daily work, run as a discipline: knowing the state of every computer and server, raising a record when something breaks, fixing it within an agreed time, and being able to show afterwards who touched which system and why. Hesper brings four jobs at the core of it (monitoring, remote access, standard repairs and SLA-tied ticketing) into one managed services platform, so the record of a fault, the fix and the person who approved it sit in one place.
Hesper is in development, with early access until its launch in November 2026. We own it outright, as we own AtlasOS, our operating system for professional services firms (visit the AtlasOS site (opens atlaspractice.app)). Both sit on our platforms page.

Each computer is checked every 15 minutes, and a fault is raised as a ticket automatically, so the first sign of trouble does not depend on a user noticing it and picking up the phone. Read more about Hesper monitoring, automation and ticketing.
A library of standard repairs fixes common faults the same way every time. The riskier repairs run only after a person has approved them, and that approval is recorded.
Every ticket carries the clock of the service-level agreement it falls under, so each piece of work is measured against the target agreed for it.

The four capabilities are designed to work as one loop, the same loop that runs our own managed IT service. Monitoring is automated and continuous; the human response follows the SLA.
01.
Monitoring checks each computer every 15 minutes.
02.
A fault becomes a ticket without anyone typing it in, and the SLA clock starts.
03.
In our own service, incidents are ranked on a P1 to P4 scale, from a critical outage (P1) to a low-impact request (P4). Response and resolution targets for each level are agreed in each client's SLA, matched to what downtime costs that client.
04.
Where a standard repair fits, it runs from the library. A riskier repair waits until a person approves it, and the approval is kept on record.
05.
When a technician must work on the device directly, the remote session is approved and logged.
06.
The ticket closes, and the record of what was detected, what ran, who approved it and who connected remains available for review.
MSP technology, often shortened to MSP tech, is the set of tools a service provider or IT team runs on. Product names vary, but the jobs are consistent. This table shows which of those jobs fall inside Hesper's published scope.
| Job in the MSP tech stack | What it does | In Hesper's published scope |
|---|---|---|
| Remote monitoring and management (RMM) | Watches devices and raises alerts | Yes: each computer checked every 15 minutes, with faults raised as tickets |
| Remote access | Lets a technician work on a device from elsewhere | Yes: built on RustDesk, with device groups, approvals and session logs |
| Automation | Runs repeatable fixes | Yes: a library of standard repairs, the riskier ones gated by recorded human approval |
| Ticketing and helpdesk | Records and tracks every incident and request | Yes: every ticket tied to its SLA clock |
| Professional services automation (contracts, quoting, invoicing) | Runs the commercial side of a managed service | Not in the published scope: keep your MSP quoting software and finance system |
| Backup, endpoint security and documentation | Protect data and devices; hold runbooks | Not in the published scope: these remain separate tools |
We describe only what is in Hesper's published scope, and we do not promise features ahead of launch.
MSP management software has to serve a portfolio of clients, each with its own agreement. Device groups let a provider organise each client's devices separately, and each ticket runs on the clock of the SLA it belongs to.
An internal team still owes the business an agreed service. Hesper gives it the same monitoring, approvals and records that an outside provider would be held to.
Departments, municipalities and state-owned entities answer to auditors and to PFMA or MFMA reporting disciplines. Approved, logged remote sessions and recorded repair approvals give those reviews a trail to test.
A small IT team looking after many learner, lecturer and staff devices needs faults to raise themselves and routine fixes to run without a site visit.
A remote-access tool can reach every device an organisation owns, so auditors ask about its controls before its features. Hesper follows the governance we apply to all our work:
We run our own managed IT service on our own tooling, and our remote-access platform runs on our own servers in Johannesburg. Hesper is that tooling: built first for our own service, and now in development so that other MSPs and IT teams can run on it too.
Owning the platform means we decide where data sits, how approvals work and what gets logged, instead of inheriting those choices from someone else's product. Its first users are our own technicians, working to client SLAs, so it is shaped by real tickets rather than a wish list. Our managed IT services and IT service desk run on this approach, and the service desk works to ITIL-aligned incident, request, problem and change practice; our guide to ITIL and IT service management explains those terms.

Whichever managed service provider software you choose, test it against the questions your procurement office, your auditors and your own technicians will ask:
For Hesper, questions two to five are answered on this page, and so is the first in part: Arke Technologies owns Hesper outright. Pricing will be published at launch. On exit our position is simple: your data, credentials and documentation belong to you.

Arke Technologies (Pty) Ltd is a Level 1 B-BBEE contributor (sworn affidavit available on request), which gives buyers 135% procurement recognition. Our company documents, CSD supplier number and SARS tax compliance status are available on request, and we complete standard bidding documents (SBD forms) when a bid requires them.
If you would rather not run IT operations yourself, our managed IT service delivers the same approach under one contract and one SLA, and co-managed IT works alongside an internal team that wants to keep control. For background on the model, read what managed IT services are.
Hesper launches in November 2026. It is the IT operations platform for managed service providers and in-house IT teams, built first for our own managed service: remote access with approvals and session logs, monitoring every 15 minutes with faults raised as tickets, standard automated repairs with recorded human approval for the riskier ones, and ticketing tied to SLA clocks. Pricing will be published at launch.
Managed service provider software is the tooling an MSP uses to run IT for its clients: remote monitoring and management, remote access, automation, ticketing and, often, professional services automation for contracts and invoicing. Hesper covers the operational core, meaning approved remote access, monitoring every 15 minutes, standard automated repairs and ticketing tied to SLA clocks, for MSPs and in-house IT teams alike.
IT operations management is the day-to-day discipline of keeping an organisation's devices, servers and services working: monitoring them, recording faults, fixing them within agreed times and keeping evidence of what was done. Operations management in IT differs from IT strategy, which decides what to buy and build. Hesper supports the operational side, from the first alert to the closed ticket.
In technology, MSP stands for managed service provider: a company that runs some or all of another organisation's IT under a contract, usually priced per user or device each month and governed by a service-level agreement. MSP technology is the software such a provider depends on. Arke Technologies runs a managed service itself, and Hesper began as the tooling for it.
Hesper launches in November 2026. It is in development now, and we offer early access until launch, so MSPs and IT teams can see how it would fit their work before they commit. Join the early-access list through our contact form and we will email you about early access and the launch. Pricing will be published at launch.
Hesper's pricing will be published at its launch in November 2026, so we do not quote a figure here. When you compare MSP software, check what the price is counted against (technicians, devices or clients), which capabilities are included and what growth will cost over your contract term. Join the early-access list to be told as soon as pricing is published.
No, quoting and invoicing are not in Hesper's published scope. Hesper covers the operations side of a managed service: remote access with approvals and session logs, monitoring every 15 minutes, standard automated repairs and ticketing tied to SLA clocks. Keep your existing MSP quoting software and finance system for contracts, quotes and invoices; we describe only the published scope and promise no features ahead of launch.
Yes. Hesper's remote access is built on open-source RustDesk, with a management layer we own that adds device groups, approvals and session logs. That gives teams a remote desktop tool whose core code is open to inspection, with the governance controls an organisation needs on top. Our guide to RustDesk for business explains the self-hosted approach in more detail.
Both can. Hesper is built for managed service providers and for in-house IT teams in companies, public bodies and education institutions. An internal team owes the business an agreed service just as an outside provider does, so the same monitoring, approved remote access, standard repairs and SLA-tied tickets apply. Teams that want support alongside their own staff can use our co-managed IT service.
