What are managed IT services?
The MSP meaning, examples and what an agreement covers.

Arke Technologies publishes plain, sourced guides for the people who choose, fund and run technology in South African organisations, public bodies and schools. Each guide answers its question first, then sets out the options, the risks and, where you are buying, the costs and how to buy well.
Each guide serves one decision, such as whether to outsource IT, which productivity suite to license or how a municipality buys technology. The answer comes first, in a paragraph you can quote to a board; the options and risks follow, with the costs and the questions for suppliers wherever you are buying. For everything we do, start at the home page or see our services and the industries we serve.

Plain, sourced guides for the people who decide on and buy technology, sent to your inbox.
They are written for the people who choose, fund and run technology in South African organisations: IT directors, finance directors, procurement officers, board members, municipal managers, principals and bursars. Each guide defines its terms and assumes no specialist knowledge, and where you are buying, it gives the questions to put to a supplier.
Every guide shows the month it was last reviewed, and every figure that is not ours carries its source and date. Vendor prices for products such as Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace change often, so the pricing guides explain what drives the cost and where current prices are published.
No guide assumes the answer is us. Each sets out the options on their merits, including in-house IT and other ways to buy. Where we provide the service, the guide says how we deliver it and links to the service page, so our advice and our offer stay clearly apart and you can hold us to the same questions as any other supplier.
Server Hub, our IT hardware division, publishes hardware buying guides, a Microsoft 365 price guide (opens serverhub.co.za) and a catalogue of more than 26,000 products priced in rand with VAT included; request a hardware quote (opens serverhub.co.za). Fibre Boyz, our connectivity division, connects uncapped business fibre and fixed LTE: check connectivity for your office (opens fibreboyz.co.za).
Yes. Most engagements begin with discovery and an assessment: we document what you run, where the risks sit and what should change, then set out the scope, the service levels and the price in a written proposal. Talk to us to arrange one, or call 010 447 2445.
Tell us what you are deciding, and we will point you to the right guide or arrange a conversation. Email info@arketechnologies.com or call 010 447 2445; we aim to respond to new enquiries within one business day.
