Fibre Boyz: uncapped fibre and fixed LTE from Arke Technologies

Fibre Boyz is the internet service provider within Arke Technologies (Pty) Ltd in Johannesburg. It connects, bills and supports uncapped fibre and fixed LTE for organisations, schools, homes and home offices in South Africa, with one bill and one number to call for the line and the router.

What Fibre Boyz does

When an internet line fails, three parties are usually involved: the network that owns the fibre, the provider that sells the service and whoever looks after the router, each able to point at the others while your office waits. Fibre Boyz carries those handovers for you: it orders the line on the network that serves your building, sets up the router, confirms the service, and then takes over billing and support.

Fibre Boyz is also where the company began. It registered in 2017 and traded as Fibre Boyz, connecting homes and businesses, then took the name Arke Technologies in September 2026 as it expanded into servers, managed IT, cybersecurity, software, AI and cloud. It is the same company, and Fibre Boyz keeps its name as our connectivity division.

What Fibre Boyz connects

  • Uncapped fibre

No monthly data cap, on the fibre network that reaches the building, for offices, branches, schools and homes.

  • Fixed LTE

Internet over a mobile network's 4G service to a router fixed at one address: for sites fibre has not reached, and as a backup link.

  • Mesh Wi-Fi

Carries the connection through a home or small office. Larger sites need a designed network: see business Wi-Fi.

  • Backup power

A UPS for the fibre terminal and router, sized for the runtime you need, so your side of the connection keeps running during load-shedding.

  • Smart-home setups

Connected devices in homes and home offices, set up on the same network.

The networks Fibre Boyz connects on

Much of South Africa's fibre is open access: a fibre network operator builds and owns the fibre in the street, and internet service providers such as Fibre Boyz sell services over it. Fibre Boyz connects on fibre networks including Openserve, Vuma (formerly Vumatel) and Frogfoot, and on others where they reach your building. Fixed LTE runs on major mobile networks. Which networks reach an address decides what can be ordered there, so every order starts with a coverage check.

How a connection is set up

  1. Check the address

Confirm which fibre and mobile networks reach it.

  2. Choose the service

Fibre where it reaches the building; fixed LTE where it does not, or as a backup on a different network.

  3. Order

We order the line on the chosen network and follow the installation through to a working service.

  4. Set up and confirm

We configure the router, add mesh Wi-Fi or backup power, and record the settings.

  5. Bill and support

Fibre Boyz takes over billing and support; on an Arke SLA, the line joins the supported estate.

For IT, finance and procurement teams

  • Governance and reporting. On an Arke SLA, connectivity faults are prioritised on the same P1 to P4 scale as any other incident, with response and resolution targets agreed in your SLA and reported in the monthly service review.
  • Compliance. On a managed contract, the firewall and monitoring behind the line are part of the reasonable technical measures POPIA requires to protect personal information (see firewalls and network security). Public bodies receive audit-ready documentation for PFMA and MFMA reporting.
  • Procurement fit. Fibre Boyz is a division of Arke Technologies (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2017/386810/07, VAT number 4750287957), a member of the Internet Service Providers' Association of South Africa (ISPA) and a Level 1 B-BBEE contributor (sworn affidavit available on request) giving buyers 135% procurement recognition. Company documents, our CSD supplier number and SARS tax compliance status are available on request, and we complete standard bidding documents (SBD forms) when a bid requires them. See company facts for procurement teams.
  • Continuity. A fixed LTE backup on a different network keeps a site working through a line fault, and a UPS on the terminal and router carries it through a power cut for as long as the battery lasts. Router and firewall credentials, IP address records and network documentation are yours, so a change of provider never strands you.

Part of Arke Technologies

Fibre Boyz sits beside Server Hub, our hardware division, among our companies. Fibre Boyz provides the line into the building, Server Hub supplies the equipment in the rack, and one accountable team in Johannesburg supports both under managed IT services. Frequently asked questions

Who owns Fibre Boyz? Show answer

Arke Technologies (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2017/386810/07) owns Fibre Boyz: it is the company's connectivity division, not a separate company. Contracting with Fibre Boyz means contracting with Arke Technologies, with one set of company documents, one Level 1 B-BBEE status and one accountable team for the line and the IT behind it.

Is Fibre Boyz a member of ISPA? Show answer

Yes. Arke Technologies (Pty) Ltd, the company that trades as Fibre Boyz, is a member of the Internet Service Providers' Association of South Africa (ISPA) and is bound by the ISPA Code of Conduct, so the code applies to every Fibre Boyz line, whether it serves an organisation, a school or a home.

How do we check fibre availability at our address? Show answer

Enter the address at fibreboyz.co.za, or send us a list of sites and we will check each one. Availability depends on which fibre networks have built to the address. Where none has, fixed LTE on a major mobile network is usually the quicker first link, once we have confirmed the signal at the exact address.

What is fixed LTE, and when is it the better choice? Show answer

Fixed LTE is internet over a mobile network's 4G (LTE) service, delivered to a router fixed at one address rather than to a phone. It suits sites fibre has not reached, and makes a useful backup on a different network. Because it shares capacity at the local tower, performance varies more than fibre, so we confirm the signal at the exact address first.

Can connectivity be included in our IT support contract? Show answer

Yes. For organisations Arke Technologies supports, business fibre and LTE can be bundled into the managed IT contract, so the line, the firewall, the Wi-Fi and the computers sit with one supplier and one SLA. Our page on business connectivity: fibre and LTE covers the options, the backup links and what to check in a contract.

What happens when a line fails? Show answer

You report the fault to one number and we take it from there. We establish whether the problem is the line, the router or the network inside the building, and take a line fault up with the network that owns the fibre. A backup link on a different network can keep the site online meanwhile.

Check connectivity for your office

Send us your sites and how each one uses the connection, and we will recommend the line and the backup behind it. We aim to respond to new enquiries within one business day.
