One accountable IT company in South Africa for the systems you run on

Arke Technologies is an IT company in South Africa, based in Johannesburg. One accountable team supplies your servers and IT hardware and designs, builds, secures and supports the systems you run on — under one contract and one SLA.

Among IT companies in South Africa, one partner for the whole stack

Many IT companies in South Africa specialise in one part of the job: a support desk, a software team, a hardware catalogue or a connectivity reseller. Failures tend to happen at the joins, where each supplier can point at another. With Arke, the service desk, the security, the software and the infrastructure underneath sit with one contracting company, which answers for the result.

Our promise is one accountable technology partner: the right systems, sourced honestly, supported for the long run. In practice that means a named service lead, a service-level agreement (SLA) with response and resolution times, a written monthly report, and a straight answer when a simpler option will do.

Tech companies in South Africa serve a growing market: South African IT services are forecast to grow from USD 14.7 billion in 2025 to USD 27.0 billion in 2030, with managed security the fastest-growing segment at 14.2% a year (Mordor Intelligence).

IT solutions and services under one contract

Seven disciplines make complete IT business solutions; hardware and connectivity come from our own trading divisions, described further down.

We also design, cable and manage network infrastructure, build reporting and dashboards through data and analytics, and support boards with IT governance, risk and compliance. The full list of tech services is on our services page.

Who we serve

How we deliver: one contract, one SLA, one monthly review

Every engagement follows the same path, so you know what happens next and what it costs before anything is signed.

  1. Discovery

We document your devices, servers, licences, networks, applications and suppliers.

  2. Assessment

We test the estate against a security, backup, licensing and support baseline, and rank the risks.

  3. Proposal

Scope, a per-seat monthly price for ongoing support and a separate quote for any project, with assumptions written down.

  4. SLA

Response and resolution times, exclusions, on-site policy, price per seat and term; incidents are prioritised from P1 (critical outage) to P4 (low-impact request), with response and resolution targets matched to the business impact of downtime and agreed per client.

  5. Onboarding

Monitoring installed, credentials and runbooks documented, and support taken over on an agreed date.

  6. Monthly service review

A report on tickets, SLA performance, security, patching and backups, and a meeting to agree next steps.

The tooling is our own: monitoring checks each computer every 15 minutes and logs faults as tickets; remote support runs on our own platform, built on open-source RustDesk and hosted on our Johannesburg servers; riskier automated repairs need a recorded human approval. Out-of-hours and weekend cover is available by agreement, written into your SLA.

Governance, compliance and procurement fit

King IV Principle 12 makes the governing body responsible for technology and information, technological risk included, and procurement officers and school governing bodies need evidence before they sign. We provide that evidence as standard.

  • Governance and reporting. A named service lead, a monthly service review and report, documented escalation paths, change control, and ITIL-aligned incident, request, problem and change management.
  • Compliance and data protection. POPIA and PAIA, with a designated Information Officer; King IV Principle 12; PFMA and MFMA disciplines for public bodies; controls aligned with ISO/IEC 27001 and the NIST Cybersecurity Framework; encryption in transit and at rest, access controls and audit logging.
  • Procurement. Level 1 B-BBEE contributor, giving buyers 135% procurement recognition (sworn affidavit available on request); company documents and a bank confirmation letter on request; standard bidding documents (SBD forms) completed when a bid requires them; Central Supplier Database (CSD) supplier number and SARS tax compliance status available on request. Buy through a proposal and SLA, a purchase order or a tender response.

Registration and B-BBEE details are on our company facts page; public-sector detail is under supplier compliance for the public sector.

What IT services cost in South Africa

Last reviewed: September 2026.

Buyers comparing IT companies in South Africa usually start with price, so here are the published market figures and how we quote.

ItemPublished South African market rangeHow Arke prices it
Managed IT supportAbout R180 to R400 per user per month (matnet.co.za, September 2026); some providers list R450 (MiBOT, September 2026)Per user (seat) per month, set after an assessment, billed monthly in advance by debit order
IT project workAbout R550 to R750 an hour ex VAT (matnet.co.za, September 2026)Quoted per project after scoping, with deliverables and assumptions written down
An in-house hire, for comparisonA Johannesburg IT support technician earns about R21,054 a month on average (Indeed, September 2026)We scope what you keep in-house and what we carry

The price is driven by users and devices, sites and on-site work, hours of cover, security and compliance scope, and the state of the estate on day one: unsupported servers or a backup that does not work cost more to bring under management. Two organisations with the same headcount rarely carry the same risk, so we price after an assessment. The full breakdown is in how much managed IT services cost in South Africa.

Our guide explains how to choose an IT company in South Africa, and when managed IT or in-house IT makes more sense.

Arke Technologies began in 2017 as Fibre Boyz, an internet service provider, and took its current name in September 2026 as it expanded into servers, managed IT, cybersecurity, software, AI and cloud. Today the technology business has two trading divisions and two software platforms of its own.

Continuity: scale, security and exit

We are remote-first, with a certified team hired in step with the contracts we sign. You have one contract and one accountable team, and all work runs on our SLA clock. Every remote session is approved and logged, and everyone with access to your systems is bound by confidentiality and our security controls.

Continuity also covers the day you leave. You own your data, credentials and documentation throughout, and documented runbooks keep the estate independent of any one person. If you move provider or bring IT in-house, we hand everything over in an orderly way.

Frequently asked questions

What does an ICT company do? Show answer

An ICT company designs, supplies, runs and secures the information and communication technology an organisation depends on: computers, servers, networks, connectivity, software and the support behind them. Arke Technologies covers the whole stack, from hardware and fibre through managed support and cybersecurity to custom software, integration and AI, under one contract, with the ongoing service measured against a written SLA.

What is ICT in South Africa? Show answer

ICT stands for information and communication technology, and in South Africa the term covers both computing and telecommunications: IT services, software, hardware, connectivity and the ICT systems that tie them together. Public-sector documents and tenders usually say ICT rather than IT, and the label matters less than whether one supplier answers for how the parts work together.

What are the top ICT companies in South Africa? Show answer

By revenue, the top ICT companies in South Africa are the listed technology and telecommunications groups and the local arms of multinational firms, but those rankings measure size, not fit for your organisation. A better test is whether a supplier offers one accountable contract, a written SLA, a named team, audit-ready documentation, a clear exit and a current B-BBEE status, as the comparison table above sets out.

How much do IT companies in South Africa charge for managed IT? Show answer

Published South African managed IT rates run from about R180 to R400 per user per month (matnet.co.za, September 2026), with some providers listing R450 (MiBOT, September 2026). We price per user per month after an assessment, because scope, sites, on-site needs and compliance drive the cost more than headcount. Project work outside the SLA is quoted per project.

Is Arke Technologies a B-BBEE-compliant supplier? Show answer

Yes. Arke Technologies (Pty) Ltd is a Level 1 B-BBEE contributor, which gives buyers 135% procurement recognition; the sworn affidavit is available on request. Company registration documents, a bank confirmation letter, our CSD number and tax compliance status are available too, and we complete standard bidding documents when a bid requires them. See our company facts page.

Where is Arke Technologies based, and where do you work? Show answer

Our head office is at 8 Greenstone Place, Stoneridge Office Park, Block A North, First Floor, Greenstone Hill, Johannesburg, 1609, South Africa. Delivery is remote-first, so we serve clients across South Africa, with on-site work by our own team where the SLA provides for it. See where we work.

How quickly will you respond to a new enquiry? Show answer
