The challenge: deadlines spread across every client entity

An accounting and advisory practice carries its clients' deadlines as well as its own: income tax, VAT and PAYE with SARS, annual returns with CIPC, provisional tax, UIF declarations and salary schedules. Each client may be a group of related companies, trusts and individuals, and each entity keeps its own calendar.

When that work lives in spreadsheets, diaries and email folders, the people running the practice see the portfolio only by asking around, and a missed deadline tends to surface when a client or SARS raises it. Evolv describes the gap in its own words below: before AtlasOS, it did not have visibility across its entities.

What Evolv runs on AtlasOS

  • Client and entity management. Companies, trusts and individuals, with their CIPC and SARS data and the links between related entities.
  • SARS and CIPC compliance workflows. Scheduling, deadline alerts, task assignment and status tracking, including provisional tax scheduling and CIPC annual returns.
  • UIF declarations and salary schedules. Payroll-related submissions tracked in the same system as the tax work.
  • Tasks and bookkeeping reminders. Staff work assigned, tracked and followed up in one place.
  • Inbox and communications. Staff messaging, the client inbox, task comments and notifications, so each conversation stays with its work.
  • Firm-wide reporting dashboards. Compliance status across the whole client portfolio.

In Evolv's words

Atlas OS gives us visibility across 89 entities that we simply did not have before. The compliance tracking alone has saved us significant time every month.

Why Evolv is the reference site

Evolv is both the validation environment for AtlasOS and the reference architecture for every deployment that follows. New capability is proven in a working practice, against real SARS and CIPC deadlines.

That matters because practice software fails in the details: a deadline rule that is wrong for one kind of entity, or a task flow that does not match how a firm signs off its work. A working practice exposes those details every day.

AtlasOS is configured by profession. It is live for accounting and tax practices in South Africa, for audit and assurance firms in South Africa and for payroll bureaux, and it is available for nonprofits; legal practices are in scoping.

How AtlasOS protects a practice's data

A practice holds identity numbers, tax numbers and payroll records for every client, so the architecture matters.

  • Relational data. PostgreSQL on Google Cloud SQL holds the links between clients, entities, deadlines and tasks.
  • Isolation between firms. Each firm's data is separated at the database level, not merely hidden in the interface.
  • Managed sign-in and hosting. Sign-in runs on Firebase Authentication; the application runs on Firebase App Hosting, with Cloud Scheduler for scheduled work.
  • AI with people in charge. Staff ask plain questions of the practice's data, such as overdue tasks, compliance risks and client summaries. The AI supports decisions and does not replace professional judgement.
  • POPIA. The firm remains the responsible party for its clients' personal information, and its data remains its own. For the practice's wider systems, see POPIA compliance and IT for accounting and professional services firms.

Frequently asked questions

What is AtlasOS? Show answer

AtlasOS is the operating system for professional services firms, owned and built by Arke Technologies in Johannesburg. It brings client and entity management, SARS and CIPC compliance workflows, AI-assisted advisory, billing, a client inbox and firm branding into one platform, with each firm's data isolated at the database level. Visit the AtlasOS site  (opens atlaspractice.app) for full product detail.

How much does AtlasOS cost? Show answer

AtlasOS pricing is available on request after a demo, and is not published on this site. We first need to understand your firm, the entities you carry and the compliance work you do for clients. Book an AtlasOS demo through our contact page, or visit the AtlasOS site  (opens atlaspractice.app) for product detail.

Is Evolv Accountants independent of Arke Technologies? Show answer

No. Evolv Accountants is our sister company, and we say so to let you weigh the evidence fairly. Evolv runs its compliance work, tasks and inbox on AtlasOS and is the reference site for the platform. The most useful test for your firm is a demo against your own workflows, entities and deadlines.

Does AtlasOS use AI on client data? Show answer

Yes, with people in charge. The AI-assisted advisory module lets staff ask plain questions of the practice's data, such as overdue tasks, compliance risks and client summaries, and it supports decisions without replacing judgement. We never train models on client data without explicit consent. Our page on how we use AI sets out the limits.
